The Last Supper: A Video Exhibition
We are pleased to announce that we have been working on a series of exhibitions in a new format using video as well as text.
Our first video exhibition, ‘The Last Supper’, is being launched to coincide with the Feast of Corpus Christi which this year is celebrated on 11 June.
The Feast of Corpus Christi was established in the Middle Ages to allow Christians to celebrate Christ’s gift of himself through the eucharistic elements of bread and wine. The artworks and commentary in this video exhibition relate to Matthew 26:26–29, Mark 14:22–25, and Luke 22:15–20, and focus on Christ’s statement at the Last Supper—recalled in every Eucharist—‘this is my body’, and ‘this is my blood’.
The exhibition features works of art by Ercole de' Roberti, Leonardo da Vinci, and Sadao Watanabe.
The Last Supper video exhibition is presented by Professor Ben Quash, Dr Jennifer Sliwka, and Dr Michelle Fletcher.
