Discipleship

‘Come, follow me!’ is one of the first recorded sayings of Jesus Christ. ‘Disciple’ is the New Testament’s term for all those who respond to this call. Christ's disciples are followers of their teacher—people who seek to be faithful to him as they follow the way that he has opened up for them. We meet disciples in many shapes and forms in the Gospels. Their example—combined with the guidance and exhortation offered at many other points in the New Testament—has offered a shape of living for disciples in every generation since.
