Apocalyptic
‘Apocalypse’ means ‘revelation’, or ‘unveiling’. At various points in the Bible—and especially in the last book of the New Testament—there is a lifting of the veil on heavenly places, and on divine activity. These occasions reveal how the purposes of God—which often seem hidden from human creatures—are nevertheless decisive in world history. The following exhibitions explore how such biblical passages might make all of us into seers.
